Justin David Brent Fraser
South Kamloops Secondary
The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Vancouver’s Best Teen Chef 2008

Justin’s passion for cooking began at an early age under the guidance of both his mother and grandmother. Inspirations for his culinary creations were drawn from beautiful British Columbia’s natural wilderness with ingredients such as wild salmon, elk and deer.  Recently his interest in cooking became more serious and he plans to begin his studies in the Culinary Arts &  Restaurant Ownership program at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Vancouver where he will be able to expand and later refine his culinary style.

Justin also enjoys the outdoors, sports and music, but his true passion remains in cooking where he has shown the capacity, talent and imagination to create something that is truly original. Justin cautioned students who have a passion that the road is not always an easy one, but no matter how hard it gets, the key to success is perseverance.

In the future, Justin hopes to follow his own passion and run a restaurant that serves traditional west coast cuisine and his personal favorite - citrus glazed, cedar-planked salmon.
