The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California - Inland Empire’s Best Teen Chef 2008

Kevin Agra, 18, is this year’s Best Teen Chef winner for The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California - Inland Empire.

Kevin began cooking when he was eight years old.  His inspiration was his father and watching cooking shows on TV.  He has become the primary cook at home and his family is very supportive of his cooking talents.

Kevin likes to prepare many varieties of Asian food.  He uses a liberal amount of garlic when preparing fish, meat, rice, pasta and assorted vegetables.

After high school, Kevin wants to earn his bachelor of science in the culinary arts, start his career as a chef and eventually operate his own restaurant.

When not in the kitchen cooking or studying, Kevin likes to hang out with his friends, play basketball and skateboard.  He also volunteers in the family business, the Agra Guest House, a care facility for disabled elderly patients.  He buys the food for the facility and helps take care of the residents.
